With the COVID pandemic curtailing international travel and leading us both to largely work from home, Hannah and I were keen to escape for a few days, taking advantage of the COVID-safe travel bubble in place between Australia and New Zealand.
We found an AirBnB on the Glenorchy road nearby Queenstown and made this our base for a short five-day stay, renting a compact SUV for local touring around Central Otago.
From these locations we made various day trips - highlight being a helicopter flight to Franz Josef glacier at Mt Cook.
After lockdown and this extended period of low-grade caution and anxiety, it was a pleasure just to dust off the camera and get out and about in (for me) an unfamiliar destination.
