Landing in New York, we had somewhat of an extra stay in New York while Disco caught up with us, after being delayed by bad seas. We set up initially in Midtown before moving out to Brooklyn. Once Disco arrived we headed for Gettysburg before following the Blue Ridge Parkway down to visit friends in Huntersville, North Carolina. Rejoining the Parkway, we continued south and west to Nashville, where we joined the Natchez Trace Parkway. Heading into the Deep South, we stopped at Vicksburg and Natchez before arriving Lafayette. Meanwhile the COVID-19 pandemic was taking off. We paused in Lafayette for a fortnight before moving to San Antonio, where the case load was somewhat lower. It became clear that the outlook was not great - we made the decision to defer the balance of our itinerary and returned to Australia via San Francisco.
